My Little Autumn Rituals !
I love every season and I don’t think I could ever choose a favorite.
What I love about autumn are the colors, of course, the scents in the air and that gentle invitation to slow down. 🍂
Staying home on a rainy day without guilt, cooking something comforting, calling someone I love or simply enjoying the quiet.
I also love the idea of romanticizing my life : turning the smallest, simplest moments into tiny pieces of happiness, reminders of how lucky I am to live this beautiful life.
Here are a few rituals I’ve been cherishing this season :
-
Watching nature.
Since September, I often take the bus to visit friends who live outside Oslo. The road follows the fjord, passes through the forest and crosses a small river. Every time, I feel deeply moved, it’s a quiet moment, full of beauty and inspiration.
-
Smiling in the rain.
Now that I have the right clothes, I sometimes walk without an umbrella, just feeling the drops on my face and knowing I’ll soon be back in the warmth of home.
-
The coffee ritual.
I only drink one cup a day, but I make it special. This autumn, it’s all about a spiced chai mocha with ginger and a touch of collagen. It’s comforting, warm and smells like a small moment of joy.
-
Going to the sauna once a week.
I wrote about it in one of my letters and it’s become such a precious moment for me. I love the contrast between the cold and the heat and that incredible sense of calm that follows.
-
Listening to a podcast.
I’ve never been great at focusing on them, but lately, I’ve been listening to "Art de vivre" by Daphné Moreau on the bus and every time I finish an episode, I feel motivated and inspired.
-
Surrounding myself with softness.
Fluffy leopard slippers, oversized jumpers, a scarf like a sleepy cat, candlelight, soft lamps… creating a little cocoon for myself.
-
Taking time to dream.
Moments just for me, without my phone (#addiction), breathing, looking out the window, not thinking of anything in particular and sometimes, letting ideas come quietly.
Maybe some of these rituals will inspire you too. ✨
And I would love to hear about your own autumn rituals if you want to share them ! 💌
