An evening feast in golden light
We were spending a weekend in Stavanger, one of those cherished getaways with family and friends. That evening, we had planned a simple barbecue, nothing fancy, just the joy of being together.
But as the day unfolded, a thought came to me:
What if tonight’s dinner could be more than just a barbecue?
What if we turned it into a beautiful table, inspired by the nature around us?

On our way back from a walk, Camille and I gathered armfuls of wildflowers. Simple treasures, picked along the paths.
Back home, Blandine joined us, and together we trimmed, arranged, and placed them into small, makeshift vases.
As the sun slowly set, we began to set the table. Nothing complicated, just what we had on hand… and flowers, everywhere. Because truly, is there anything more beautiful than a table filled with blooms ?
With so little and a touch of creativity, we managed to create something simple yet full of grace.
That evening, the real luxury was in the details, and in the joy of making it together.
Anaïs arrived just in time to capture the moment, and her photos carry all the softness of that summer night.

A few easy tips:
-
Gather what nature offers : wildflowers, tall grasses, branches.
-
Repurpose what’s at hand : jars, bottles, even jam pots make lovely vases.
-
Play with height and texture to bring movement.
-
Add soft light with candles or lanterns.
-
Keep it natural : a linen cloth, or simply a cotton sheet draped with ease.
-
Slip in a fragrant touch: sprigs of rosemary or thyme tied around napkins, both pretty and aromatic.
Because sometimes, the simplest things are the most magical. ✨
