Letter 9 : A grateful heart

Updated: 5 days ago

I think this letter is simply about gratitude.

Over the past couple of months, I've had the chance to return to England.

I spent a couple of days wandering around London before escaping to the Cotswolds, a region I had been dreaming of discovering for years.

As many of you probably know by now, I have a little love affair with England, especially its countryside.

What made this trip even more meaningful was sharing it with someone special who makes me feel deeply seen and cared for. Some places become unforgettable because of who we experience them with.

It was one of those rare moments where time seems to slow down.

There was nothing to achieve, nowhere to rush. Just a coffee in a little park, dinner in a cosy pub while a local musician played in the background, long walks through villages made of honey-coloured stone...

The kind of memories that quietly stay with you. Even writing these words makes me smile.

Back in Oslo, these past weeks have also been filled with beautiful moments shared with friends from Norway and from all around the world.

One of my favourite things in life is being surrounded by different cultures.

Every conversation teaches me something new. We laugh about our traditions, discover how differently we celebrate, eat or gather and somehow those differences make us feel even closer.

We've already started dreaming about visiting each other's countries one day and that thought alone fills me with joy.

Summer has finally arrived in Oslo, which means one thing : swimming in the fjord.

If you've been reading these letters for a while, you already know this has become one of my favourite rituals. Water has always been a place of comfort for me, especially cold water.

The moment I dive in, everything becomes quiet. It's difficult to explain, but it always leaves me with the same feeling: peaceful, grounded and deeply alive.

A couple of months ago, I told you how inspired I had been feeling. Thankfully, that hasn't changed.

One of the greatest surprises since creating Letters & Seasons has been hearing back from so many of you. You reply to my newsletters, leave thoughtful comments and send me messages after reading a letter or seeing an Instagram post and often share your own stories with me.

That is exactly why I started this little corner of the internet.

I didn't want to simply publish beautiful photographs or recipes.

I wanted conversations.

I wanted to create a place where stories could travel both ways. Every message I receive reminds me that this space is becoming exactly that and I can't tell you how grateful I am for it.

Lately, another little idea has quietly been growing in my mind.

I've been dreaming about creating small handmade pieces inspired by what I love most : gathering people around a table, making others feel welcome, celebrating the beauty of simple moments and paying attention to the little details that make a house feel like home.

Nothing is set in stone yet, but I find myself imagining a little shop filled with thoughtful objects created to accompany those moments we share with the people we love.

Perhaps this idea will grow into something real one day.

I'd love to know... what would you love to find in a place like that? What little objects or rituals make you feel welcomed, comforted or connected?

I'd genuinely love to hear your thoughts.
